What is Reiki?

A candle burns low in front of a piece of wood.

Love and Light.

Reiki is loving energy. A reiki practitioner is able to channel this energy and send it to where ever they would like. Using their body as a conduit, the reiki practitioner can send this energy to people, animals, plants, and objects to encourage healing and removal of negative energies and other blocks.

Modern Reiki techniques were developed in Japan by Dr. Mikao Usui in the late 1800s. His teachings were passed to Dr. Chujiro Hayashi who headed a Reiki Clinic in Tokyo in the early 1900s. Reiki was brought to the U.S. by Mrs. Hawayo Takata of Hawai’i who trained in Reiki after receiving treatments from Dr. Hayashi in Japan. Mrs. Takata trained over 20 Reiki Masters in mainland U.S. before her death in 1980.

While Reiki should not be used in the place of medical professionals, Reiki can be used in a variety of ways from helping with managing the effects of chemotherapy and chronic pain to manifesting positive vibes when we are dealing with emotional changes to encouraging better energy within the spaces we inhabit. As a Holy Fire® Usui Reiki Master, I only channel love, light, and the positive good in the universe to cleanse houses, clear spaces, and send reiki to people and animals. I am excited to work with you!
